The Canada geese were landing to feed on the corn in the field behind our yard. Just 1/2 mile away hunters have set their decoys. About eight in the morning you can hear gunfire break the silence as the geese come from Wawanosh to the corn field. This lasts about a week each year.

The Northern Saw-whet Owl is a small earless owl which is nocturnal, spending the day roosting quietly in dense foliage. They are extraordinarily tame and can be approached closely. This picture was taken in the Perch Creek Nature Trail area.
